SACRE Artefacts Proposal

 

Current situation

SACRE artefacts are currently in storage at the Open Learning Centre and not in a position to be booked out by schools, to enhance learning experiences.

 

Proposal:

·         The development of a SACRE artefacts library, to enrich the learning and teaching of Religious Studies in Bracknell Forest Schools

o   Artefacts to be grouped effectively including descriptions to support rich learning experiences.

o   Artefacts to be safely and securely stored to limit damage during storage and transit.

o   Structures, policies, and procedures to be in place to ensure effective, smooth, and safe booking processes.

o   Promotion of Library within Bracknell Forest Schools and other local authorities to support rich teaching and learning experiences.

              

Approach to be considered:

 

·         The provision of SACRE artefacts as a resource library to be built into the SACRE Action plan.

·         Identification of SACRE members to support review of Artefacts and descriptions in the directory to ensure accuracy, in keeping with current religious thinking and current practice.

·         Identification of time to enable review of artefacts and appropriate safe storage, by identified members of SACRE.

·         LA SACRE officer to discuss further the use of the Can Do platform to support delivery with other LA officers.

·         Review of current directory and transition to electronic platform with the support of local authority officers.

 

Outcomes:

·         High quality RE resource available to Bracknell Forest schools.

·         Enriched the learning experience of pupils, supporting the making of links between the different areas of knowledge.

·         Increased presence of SACRE within Bracknell Forest.
